think like a person of action : : act like a person of thought

Micah 7.8 - Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again.

There is a big difference between failing and being a failure.  One is an occurrence and the other is an identity.  We all have made decisions in the past that we would have made differently knowing what we know now.  The problem is that we cannot go to the past, can we?  All we can do is learn from it and use that wisdom to make better decisions today.

There is no benefit to living in yesterday.

I’ve heard it said that we are the sum of our past choices and I completely agree.  The life we’ve experienced thus far has shaped the person you see in the mirror.  There are areas that you are extremely proud of and, if we’re honest, many areas that we are extremely ashamed of.

Your past may explain you, but it doesn't have to define you.

The beautiful part of the story is that tomorrow is unwritten.  Even more than that, the rest of today is unwritten.  You may have allowed anger, lust, and materialism to rule your past, but today can be different.  God says that weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning.

God doesn’t consult our past to determine our future.  So, even if you feel like you’re waist deep in the consequences from the past, God says there’s JOY in the morning!  JOY!  So, pick your head up, ask God for His strength, and go create a new future right now.
